Currently going through it (surprising just how many of the names are bots that have been banned), and it came up with the name "socplitcutrl". I added this name to my ignore and it came back saying they had changed their display name to "soclplitctrl". This name IS ranked on the hiscores, but the site wouldn't accept it. The old name doesnt seem to have a profile on here either (and nor does the new one).

Is this a problem? And what should I do? Just generate a new name and have the site assume they were banned? This is what I've done before when this happened, but I was wondering if there was anything else that I could do to get it to work.

You already explained it yourself, if for some odd reason the name won't show up in your friends list (which can be of bans performed by Jagex) you will have to skip it.

IF this happens more often just leave another message so hopefully Swordkill can check it out.

I believe what happened was that this player changed their name after they had registered on the RuneTrack, but before their account had been unlocked. This is how they could still be in the system, without actually having a User Profile. This scenario is pretty rare, but yes, if it occurs, feel free to just skip the name and go on to the next one.

And no worries about skipping names either if you're unsure - the system doesn't automatically label someone as banned just because they are skipped by one person. I have an algorithm in place which is designed to show the display names most likely to have changed their names (and not be banned) more often than those who are suspected of being banned. Every time you skip a name, you're essentially contributing a vote towards that name likely being banned - meaning you will never see it again from your IP address, and making it less likely for it to appear in other user's Name Change queues. The more "skips" a name gets, the less it appears for others in their queues, until it finally gets pushed out of the system and labeled as a banned display name. So one person alone can't have that much influence over the system - it takes a few levels of integrity checks before a display name is confirmed to be banned.

Also an issue I just found out is the display name changes affecting the competition tracker. At the moment if my clan members change there name everything will be whiped clean and since our competition has some kind of prizes this is kinda affecting the whole competition would there be a possible fix where admins can manually change the names for the competitors or something just to keep the competitors progress??
