Jos Buttler is determined to make a huge impact in his debut season at the IPL - but insists he has not lost hope of a Test-match recall. Buttler will play for reigning IPL champions Mumbai Indians in the 2016 tournament, which begins on Saturday, having been usurped as Englands Test wicketkeeper by Jonny Bairstow. The 25-year-old, who was purchased by Mumbai for £385,000 in the IPL auction, knows he faces a fight to make the starting XI of his franchise, who are coached by former Australia batsman Ricky Ponting. However, Buttler says he is looking to carry on his batting form from the World T20 after being given assurances from England supremo Trevor Bayliss that his Test ambitions will not suffer due to his stint in the subcontinent. Buttlers team-mates at Mumbai include Rohit Sharma and Kieron Pollard I am proud and want to perform, Buttler told Sky Sports. I want to get the best out of myself and that goes hand in hand with what is expected of you at Mumbai Indians.[Ponting] has told me to practise my fielding and keeping and do all the things I do, so we will work out whether I am in the team for the first game.Fingers crossed I am - Mumbai are reigning champions and a settled team but I am here to do my best and take an opportunity if I get it. It takes some getting used to - I suppose the only thing you can liken it to is the exposure that footballers get in England. You get a sense of the crowds watching it on TV but being here and seeing people waiting outside the hotel makes you pinch yourself. Jos Buttler on Indian fans I havent given up hope on playing Test cricket - there are lots of things I need to improve on but I have been told this wont [affect my Test match aspirations].Trevor is a coach with IPL experience and is keen for guys to get in here - I am available and it will only enhance my game.Buttler believes a spell in the IPL is the boost he needs after being part of Englands heart-breaking defeat to West Indies in the World T20 final. Michael Atherton and Andrew Flintoff think the future of England cricket is in great hands and the side will be spurred on by the defeat to the Windies Ben Stokes was clubbed for four successive sixes by Carlos Brathwaite as West Indies smashed the 19 runs they required for victory in the final over. But Buttler believes his country, who completed a record World T20 run chase to beat South Africa earlier in the competition, are on the cusp of something special with eager players and a relaxed coaching duo of Bayliss and Paul Farbrace. Its great for me to have this new experience and such an exciting thing to look forward to after the disappointment, he added. As a side it was a hell of an achievement and I think it is just the start of something that can be really special. Jason Roy is another player to revel in Englands aggressive approach We always stuck to the idea that the team that won the tournament was the one that played bold, aggressive cricket and that we would stick to that even if we went out. That has been our mantra for 12 months - if we fall on the wrong side, make sure its from being over-aggressive.Its such an enjoyable team to play in - there are lots of young guys who are keen to enjoy and experience international cricket and in Farbrace and Bayliss we have two laidback guys who tell you the basics and then say over to you.Less communication gives you more freedom and responsibility to play the way you want. Then, if you fail, its on your own terms and they are 100 per cent behind that.Sky Sports is the only place you can watch all the action from the 2016 IPL, starting on Saturday as Kevin Pietersen and the Rising Pune Supergiants face defending chapions Mumbai Indians, including Englands Jos Buttler, live on Sky Sports 3 from 3pm. PITTSBURGH -- The Pittsburgh Steelers spent three hours making Buffalo quarterback EJ Manuel look very much like the rookie he is. Old times for a defence that has looked just plain old recently? "No," safety Ryan Clark said. "We used to be much better than that. "It was a good day, though." A welcome one, too, in a 23-10 romp Sunday. A week after a historic blowout at the hands of the New England Patriots, the Steelers went back to basics, ones that rarely change for a franchise that rarely changes. Run the ball. Get after the quarterback. Play with some menace. The result was Pittsburghs most complete performance this season, one the Steelers (3-6) insist still contains some cause for optimism. "I think we went out there and answered the call today," linebacker LaMarr Woodley said. "We played like were always supposed to." The Bills managed just 227 total yards, nearly 400 less than the Patriots gained in a 55-31 whipping of Pittsburgh a week ago. That led to one of the more uncomfortable weeks in recent memory for a team accustomed to being near the top of the AFC North, not stuck at the bottom. The Steelers sacked Manuel three times and allowed Buffalo (3-7) to convert just 3 of 14 third downs. Manuel completed 22 of 39 passes for 155 yards with a touchdown and an interception in his return after missing a month with a sprained right knee. He declined to blame his issues on rust, though he hardly looked like the dynamic playmaker that made Buffalo look so intriguing in September. Battling a stiff breeze much of the day, Manuel struggled to find any rhythm against a defence smarting after giving up a franchise record for points and yards a week ago. "I felt good throughout the game," Manuel said. "Obviously, there were plays that I missed, but I have to get better from there. The wind wasnt a problem." The Steelers, however, were another matter. Pittsburgh limited the Bills to 95 yards rushing -- 50 below their season average -- as Buffalos C.J. Spiller and Fred Jackson found little room to manoeuvr against a defence that came in ranked 31st in the league. There were no such issues for Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger passed for 204 yards with a touchdown and an interception and LeVeon Bell added 96 total yards and a score as Pittsburgh snapped a two-game losing streak. The Steelers, who ccame into the game 28th in the league in rushing, rolled up 136 yards on the ground and controlled the ball for more than 35 minutes.dddddddddddd. "We came in from the get-go wanting to run the ball and establish the run," Bell said. "Buffalo had no opportunities to get back in the game." Even if it took awhile for the Steelers to establish their dominance. Roethlisberger had accuracy issues early. He underthrew Markus Wheaton on Pittsburghs opening drive. Jairus Byrd stepped in front and returned it 57 yards to the Pittsburgh 29. Led by Spiller and Jackson, the Bills made it all the way to the Pittsburgh 1. Rather than test a defence that has allowed the second-most TDs rushing in the NFL, Manuel lobbed pass toward the corner of the end zone that sailed well out of bounds. The Bills settled for a field goal and the Steelers had the confidence boost they needed. "We know were way better than what we did last week in New England," Steelers rookie linebacker Jarvis Jones said. "We had to come out and respond and keep responding." Pittsburgh scored the games next 23 points, going in front to stay when Roethlisberger ended an 86-yard march by finding Jerricho Cotchery with a pretty 5-yard touchdown to make it 10-3 with 1:55 left in the first half. Any belief Buffalo had of rallying ended late in the third quarter. Roethlisberger connected with Brown for a 40-yard gain, and Shaun Suisham came on for a short field goal attempt. Buffalo jumped offside, and two plays later Bell used a block from tight end Mike Adams to give the Steelers their first 14-point lead at home this season. An interception and a 50-yard punt return by Brown helped Pittsburgh tack on two more Suisham field goals, allowing the Steelers to enjoy a brief respite from two months of frustration. NOTES: The Bills had four sacks, pushing their season total to 33, including a career-high five by DE Jerry Hughes. ... Buffalo WR Stevie Johnson left with a groin injury and did not return. ... Pittsburgh rookie S Shamarko Thomas left in the second quarter with an ankle injury did not return. G Ramon Foster also left with an ankle injury and did not return. ...
