Description: STAR-CCM + is one of the most modern, in comparison with competitors, a software package designed for solving problems of continuum mechanics. It differs in unusual usability. STAR-CCM + includes the latest numerical algorithms, such as advanced solvers, distributed (segregated solver) and connected (coupled solver), in addition, it is created using the most modern programming methods. All this allows STAR-CCM + to provide unprecedented accuracy, reliability and flexibility in solving problems of computational mechanics of continuous media.
New powerful tools for building grids: from restoring the integrity of the surface (surface wrapping) to the creation of grids of polyhedral cells. The use of these new tools for building grids can reduce the time needed to solve a problem.
A large set of physical models: laminar and turbulent flows, Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids, multiphase flows, cavitation, radiation, combustion, boundary layer development, flows with large Mach numbers, conjugate heat transfer, and new models for calculating heat exchangers and fans.

Models consisting of 1 billion or more cells: Unlike all other CFD packages, STAR-CCM + is specifically designed to perform scalable parallel computing on arbitrarily large computational grids. Allows to solve relatively simple problems of strength (together with gas dynamics).
