looking at the incredble record from username 8ay on dec 9th setting a few all time records most noticeably 52m runecraft in a day the account seems to have lost xp in some skills and gained in others. im confused, assuming either an error, a higher level account changing their name to 8ay, or an account recently rolled back cheating massively. i dont know if any of those assumptions are correct, but i dont know how any account loses xp and gains that much xp in a day.

Hey Bob Grey,

Nice catch. I've now removed that player's xp gains for yesterday as they're obviously not right. This wasn't a RuneTrack issue as the numbers match the Jagex highscores exactly, so for some reason Jagex allowed an account to massively gain xp in some skills and lose xp in others all in a matter of hours:

http://runetrack.com/history.php?user=8 ... 10&y2=2011

Even if you consider the possibility of a different account obtaining that display name - there was no break in the stat collection over the previous few days (as in, that display name has been continuously occupied by an account at daily intervals). This means that what must have happened is that in the matter of just a few hours on December 9, Jagex arranged for that display name to be taken from one player and given to another, bypassing the standard month-long display name freeze period in which a display name is frozen and can be re-claimed.

Rather suspicious indeed.

The gains in question still appear on the weekly records page.

And, as has been said before, this can be done by the original name owner changing to an offensive username. It's not a case of jagex deciding to allow it.

8ay was formerly known as The N3xt God.

Thanks, now fixed. :)

If that were true, then his previous display name would be an ID placeholder on the mouse over, not an actual display name.
