New York Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka has cleared a key hurdle in his rehab program for strained right and left hamstrings Evan Bouchard Oilers Jersey , throwing 26 pitches in his first bullpen session.

Tanaka, sidelined since getting hurt June 8 while running the bases in a game, threw before Sunday’s game at Tampa Bay.

Cubs infielder Javier Baez is feeling better after he was hit on the left elbow by a pitch.

He was not in the starting lineup before Monday’s series opener against Los Angeles was postponed by a mixture of poor weather and a limited power outage at Wrigley Field. He said his elbow is still pretty swollen, but he felt good and no X-rays were needed.

Baez leads the Cubs with 14 homers and is tied for the team lead with 46 RBIs.
