FRISCO, Texas -- Dan Kennedy earned his first shutout of the season helping Chivas USA to a scoreless draw with FC Dallas on Thursday night. Chivas (3-10-4) got its second straight draw while extended its winless streak to 12 in the opener of a three-game road trip. "I think they are starting to play more as a team and less as individuals," Chivas coach Jose Luis Real said through a translator. Real took over at the end of May for Jose Luis Sanchez Sola. Although he is still searching for his first win as Chivas coachr, the team is showing improvement, The Goats tend to show up more against Dallas than against other opponents, and Thursday night was no different. Dallas has not defeated Chivas in six straight matches. "I dont know what it is," Real said. "I think its motivation. Obviously the players come in the game with the motivation (to take down a top team)." Dallas (8-3-7) is winless in its last five matches and sits two points behind Real Salt Lake atop the Western Conference. There were plenty of chances for both teams, though neither could take advantage. Chivas outshot Dallas 17-6, holding a 6-1 advantage on shots on goal. "I think were trying to get in the right path," Chivas midfielder Jorge Villafana said. "The thing is looking better each game. Last game we had the opportunity to get three points, we let ourselves tie it, and this time I think we did a good job coming here and getting a point in a difficult place (against) a good team." Dallas sent its first 10 shots off target, missing the goal by inches on several occasions. Chivas kept rifling shots that were blocked by Dallas defenders, including four shots in one sequence in the 54th minute. Jackson nearly put Dallas on the board in the 85th minute when he headed a cross just wide of the post. One minute later, Kennedy made a toe save on Blas Perezs header. Both teams squandered stoppage-time free-kick opportunities to saddle them with a point each. Dallas had three strong scoring opportunities in the opening 10 minutes of the game, including a strong showing on early set pieces. Defender Stephen Keel, making his first start for Dallas, just missed a header six minutes in on a corner, which would have been the 30-year-olds first career MLS goal. Four minutes later, Michels left-footed free kick from about 30 yards didnt quite curl back far enough, caroming off the far post. From there, Chivas backline tightened in the middle as the visitors starting pressing up and limiting the Dallas chances to ones created on the wings. "The beginning of the first half, we were playing really well and we kind of faded in the middle of the game," Dallas defender Matt Hedges said, "and we were giving the ball away, I think, too much and not keeping enough possession. It started to be kind of a track meet back and forth." Chivas found its footing in the final 15 minutes of the first half. Eric Avila, who played for Dallas from 2008-11, had a ground shot from about 25 yards stopped by a diving Raul Fernandez in the 30th minute. Avilas attempt triggered a string of shots to end the half, including Jose Correas about-face shot from six yards out that just went wide when he found the ball off a neat back heel from Walter Vilchez following a corner. Mike Cammalleri Jersey . The 25-year-old native of Milford, Conn., has 18 points in 41 games this season. The five-foot-eight 166-pound centre also has 28 points (10-18) in 15 games with AHL Oklahoma City. Ryane Clowe Jersey . His Chicago Blackhawks teammates werent shocked when he found it. Kanes career has been defined by his brilliance in the Blackhawks biggest moments, and his tiebreaking goal with 3:45 to play in Game 6 of the Western Conference finals will rank among the best. http://www.nhldevilshockeystore.com/sco ... ns-jersey/. And all things considered, the first 40 games have offered a little bit of everything from a hockey club that faced many questions in its first year under new management, with a new head coach and with a number of new faces in the lineup. However, with a recent dip in scoring, it seems some of the same old questions persist and several new ones have been raised after a somewhat troubling homestand. Fontaine, Minnesotas seventh shooter, went wide on Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack and slid the puck under him. Wild goaltender Darcy Kuemper preserved the win by denying Vancouvers final shooter, David Booth, as he attempted a spin-o-rama shot. The Wild (33-21-7) posted its fourth straight win, while the Canucks (28-24-10) suffered their eighth loss in the past nine games. The Canucks outshot the Wild 31-23 with Minnesotas goaltender recording 30 saves and Vancouvers Eddie Lack stopping 22. The Wild scored on one of three power plays while the Canucks were blanked on two, but tallied while shorthanded. Vancouvers Ryan Kesler and Minnesotas Zach Parise exchanged first-period goals. Kesler, who missed Thursdays win over St. Louis with a hand injury and has been the subject of trade speculation, opened the scoring 5:19 into the game while the Canucks were shorthanded. After Chris Higgins forced a turnover just outside the Vancouver blue-line, Kesler raced down left wing and beat Kuemper with a high shot. The goal came while Daniel Sedin was serving a hooking penalty. Minnesota had a goal by former Canucks defenceman Keith Ballard disallowed as officials ruled Mikael Granlund interfered with Lack, but no penalty was necessary. Parise evened the score just under nine minutes later as he beat a heavily screened shot from the slot. The Wild captain put the puck between Alex Edlers and Dany Heatleys jerseys as they stood in front of the net. The Canucks outshott the Wild 11-6 in a scoreless second period, but could not beat a steady Kuemper, who made his 14th consecutive start.dddddddddddd Early in the third period, he robbed Kesler while sprawled on his belly. After Kesler picked up the puck, cut in front of the goalmouth and sent a backhand toward the net, Kuemper lifted his right leg and kicked the disk out. The Canucks controlled play for much of the third, but struggled to generate dangerous chances against Minnesotas determined defensive efforts. The Wild only recorded its second shot of the period with 2:59 left, but still managed to force overtime. The Canucks received a rare power play 1:27 into the extra session as Parise was penalized for boarding Chris Tanev. In the shootout, Vancouvers Chris Higgins had Kuemper down and out after a deke, but hit the post on his clubs final shot of the regulation portion.
