CHICAGO - Construction equipment is starting to take big bites out of Wrigley Fields exterior outfield walls.The demolition of the historic ballparks bleachers is part of a project to build a large electronic sign and six other outfield signs.Cubs spokesman Julian Green said Thursday the affected walls wont be rebuilt for several weeks. Green said the ivy-covered outfield wall is safe from demolition.The work is part of the Cubs privately funded $575 million renovation project, which started despite a legal fight involving owners of rooftop businesses across the street.
