Hi there, I've had 2 name changes, this is my second. Original name was mayhemred, new name was Chaos Rattus, now Mayhem Red and my last name change for a while!

Sooo...

Mayhemred > Chaos Rattus > Mayhem Red

uhm how can you be sure that the names they're asking you to change to, are valid?

I mean they can give you a false, yet existing name that doesn't even belong to them.

Is there some kind of system that checks for that?


as far as I see, unless jagex gives developers some kind of API for fansites to work with, all highscore tracking sites are screwed...
sure you can go through them manually but that doesn't solve the problem

What would people have to gain from using account stats that aren't their own? By that right I could easily go sign up here with one of my friend's names from the off and use his scores, which are considerably higher than mine... Only by linking fully with the Jagex database and having people log in with their RuneScape username and password would you be able to stop stat theft, and to be brutally honest I'd not do that unless it was part of Jagex entirely and was safe from account theft...

That's a curious thought... Worked hard for my skills and I wouldn't want to be off taking someone elses.

I get error reports, but then I HAVE gained 32 lvls this month so it's understandable they'd be too far apart in the most part to merge em.

* The old display name was still detected on the RuneScape hiscores.
* The new display name is not detected on the RuneScape hiscores.

Got the same Error for Mayhemred > Chaos Rattus and for Mayhemred > Mayhem Red

I checked the database and neither the accounts Mayhemred nor Chaos Rattus appear, so it it's possible they were lost when you changed your name before the name merge system was in place.
