This week, Martin Tylers stats and facts column looks at which players have the most successful Premier League penalty record, as well as the fixtures that have produced the most goals. How to send your questions to Martin:Tweet @SkyFootball using the hashtag #TylersTeasers. Martins Starting StatSunderland enjoyed their fifth consecutive win in the Tyne-Wear derby on Sunday afternoon and they are now seven unbeaten against Newcastle, which equals their best ever run against them. The five wins in a row equals the Newcastle’s feat from February 2002 to April 2006, while September 1957 to October 1963 is the last time Sunderland went seven unbeaten against Newcastle. The most astonishing statistic is perhaps the second-game syndrome. Paolo Di Canio, Gus Poyet and Dick Advocaat all lost their first game in charge of Sunderland and all won their second game in charge - which was against Newcastle.Advocaat became the fourth different Sunderland boss in the last four home games against Newcastle; Steve Bruce (August 2011); Martin O’Neill (October 2012); Gus Poyet (October 2013) and Advocaat (April 2015).John OShea has now made 19 career appearances against Newcastle without defeat.Jermain Defoe, who was playing in his first Tyne-Wear derby, scored a memorable goal. In 18 North London derbies he only scored once. It was his seventh goal in 19 appearances against Newcastle and his 127th Premier League goal, which puts him joint 11th with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink – with more to come you would suspect. In 140 league derbies, Sunderland have now won 46. Newcastle have won 51 and there have been 43 draws. Overall there have been 154 derbies and Sunderland are now level with Newcastle on 53 wins with 48 draws. In the Premier League there have been 26 derbies, Sunderland have won eight, Newcastle have won nine and there have been nine draws. On the spot Eden Hazard scored Chelseas 100th successful Premier League penalty against Stoke I read that Chelsea scored their 100th Premier League penalty against Stoke. Have they scored the most penalties in Premier League history? (James, Glasgow) MARTIN SAYS: Thats right, Eden Hazards spot-kick on Saturday was Chelseas 100th Premier League penalty goal, but theyre not quite top of the all-time list. Jose Mourinhos side are second, but it is Liverpool who top the charts with 102 Premier League penalty goals.Chelsea are fourth on the all-time list of penalties awarded (114), but have a remarkable scoring rate, putting away 100 of their spot-kicks. Liverpool (133), Arsenal (125) and Manchester United (117) have won more, but only Liverpool have converted more. The Reds have put away 102 of their 133 penalties, two more than Chelsea, with Arsenal (94 goals from their 125) and Manchester United (89 goals from their 117) lagging behind. All-time Premier League penalties (scored and awarded)1. Liverpool (102 goals from 133 awards)2. Chelsea (100 goals from 114 awards)3. Arsenal (94 goals from 125 awards)4. Manchester United (89 goals from 117 awards)5. Newcastle (89 goals from 111 awards)6. Everton (79 goals from 102 awards)7. Tottenham (71 goals from 100 awards)8. Aston Villa (64 goals from 95 awards)Eden perfect Dimitar Berbatov has scored all nine of his Premier League penalties Eden Hazard has scored nine out of nine Premier League penalties.Which other Premier League players have never missed? (Ben, Surrey)MARTIN SAYS: Eden Hazard’s spot-kick against Stoke, as mentioned earlier, was memorable for the fact it was Chelsea’s 100th successful penalty in Premier League history, but on a personal level he also moved joint-top of the 100 per cent record charts.Hazard and Dimitar Berbatov have both scored nine from nine, the highest number of penalties taken while still retaining a 100 per cent record, while Manchester City’s Yaya Toure has scored all eight of his. Liverpool legend Jan Molby only managed seven Premier League penalties in the back-end of his Anfield career, but he scored all of them. There are eight players who have taken six penalties and scored every one: Elano, Stephen Hunt, Craig Gardner, Graham Alexander, Garry Parker, Rickie Lambert, Santi Cazorla and Clive Wilson.Honourable mentions must go to Wilfried Bony, Mario Balotelli and Shola Ameobi, all still playing, who have all scored five from five, and could still make the list if they step up to take another. It’s worth mentioning Leighton Baines, who was top of this list earlier this season after scoring 14 consecutive penalties – before David de Gea saved his 15th kick.Super subs Victor Anichebe pulls one back for West Brom to make it 3-1 against Queens Park Rangers Victor Anichebe scored another goal from the bench on Saturday. Has any player scored more times as a sub than when they started? (Malcolm, Kidderminster)MARTIN SAYS: Victor Anichebe’s record is remarkable, and he does indeed have the highest percentage of substitute goals in Premier League history. We asked our friends at Opta to look at those players who have scored a minimum of 20 goals in the top flight and tell us who has the highest percentage from the bench. The West Brom striker is the only man with a percentage above 50 per cent (59.1), scoring 13 of his 22 career Premier League goals as a substitute.Second on the list is Roman Pavlyuchenko, who spent four years at Tottenham between 2008 and 2012; he scored 45 per cent of his Premier League goals off the bench (nine of 20).Ex-Aston Villa, Swansea and West Brom man Luke Moore, who is now plying his trade with Toronto in MLS, comes in at third with 40 per cent (eight from his 20), while Szilard Nemeth, the former Middlesbrough man, is fourth with 39.1 per cent (nine from 23).The one name you’d perhaps expect to make the list, such was his impact from the bench for Manchester United, is Javier Hernandez. He scored a memorable 37 goals in the Premier League, and 14 of them (37.8 per cent) came when he started as a substitute.Games with most goals Mario Balotelli scores his first Premier League goal for Liverpool against Tottenham In the mid-nineties Liverpool v Newcastle produced classic after classic… but which Premier League fixture has produced the most goals in history? (Geraint, Cornwall)MARTIN SAYS: You’re right, I can remember some fantastic battles between Liverpool and Newcastle in the past, but it is not the fixture with the most goals in Premier League history. That title goes to Liverpool v Tottenham, a fixture that has produced a magnificent eight goals just this season. Mario Balotelli scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool at Anfield in February, as Brendan Rodgers’ side ran out 3-2 winners, while the Reds’ 3-0 win at White Hart Lane in August was also full of goals. That fixture has produced 134 goals since the inception of the Premier League in 1992, three more than the second-placed fixture: the north London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham (131 goals). The aforementioned Liverpool v Newcastle battle is third on the list of fixtures with the most goals (130), alongside Chelsea v Tottenham with the same amount. However, it’s worth pointing out that Newcastle and Liverpool have met fewer times than the other fixtures mentioned (Newcastle have sent two seasons outside the Premier League).I am often asked about the greatest game I’ve ever commentated and the 1996 version of Liverpool 4-3 Newcastle is the answer I always give. I’m looking forward to commentating on Monday night’s game for the Premier League, which can be heard if you’re not viewing in the UK.Not Roo again! Wayne Rooney of Manchester United celebrates after scoring against Aston Villa Wayne Rooney netted his 13th goal against Aston Villa at the weekend, more than he’s scored against any other side. But which Premier League player has scored the most goals against one team? (John, Stockport)MARTIN SAYS: Alan Shearer is far and away the Premier League’s all-time top goalscorer, so it is perhaps unsurprising that has scored the most goals against one team. The Newcastle United legend scored a remarkable 20 goals against Leeds United in the Premier League era.Shearer also scored 16 against Everton – a tally matched by Les Ferdinand, who also scored 16 against Everton in his career.Shearer has also scored 14 against Southampton, Coventry and Tottenham.Rooney’s 13th goal against Aston Villa puts him next on the list of most goals against one opponent, alongside Frank Lampard (13 against Aston Villa), Michael Owen (13 against West Ham and Newcastle) and that man Shearer again (13 against Sheffield Wednesday).Watch the Manchester derby, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool on NOW TV with a Sky Sports Week Pass. Kerr had his own questions for the Warriors before being convinced to take the job, notably what led to the bitter divorce between the team and Mark Jackson. Both got the answers that they had hoped for. Now each is counting on even better results to follow. The Warriors introduced Kerr as their new coach Tuesday at a packed news conference at the teams downtown Oakland headquarters. Kerr signed with the Warriors for five years and about $25 million after rejecting an offer from mentor Phil Jackson to coach the New York Knicks. "Im convinced Phil is going to make it work in New York, but when I sat down with the Warriors, it just clicked," Kerr said. "I think its the right fit for me." Kerr plans to finish his duties broadcasting the Western Conference finals for TNT before starting with the Warriors. The former NBA guard cited Golden States rapid rise the past three seasons and his family in California as his main reasons for taking the job. He replaces Mark Jackson, who was fired by the Warriors on May 6 after a 51-win season and back-to-back playoff appearances in large part because of his sour relationship with team management. Warriors general manager Bob Myers said the team identified Kerr and former Miami Heat and Orlando Magic coach Stan Van Gundy at the beginning of their search. He said Kerr already was too deep in talks with the Knicks, where Phil Jackson took over as team president in March. "We were really just hoping to get an interview with Steve. And he rebuffed us in a very polite way," Myers said, chuckling. Then Van Gundy agreed to a $35 million, five-year deal with Detroit last week to coach the Pistons and oversee basketball operations. Shortly thereafter, Kerrs agent, Mike Tannenbaum, called the Warriors and asked for a meeting. Myers, Warriors co-owner Joe Lacob, assistant GM Kirk Lacob, and director of player personnel Travis Schlenk met with Kerr for more than three hours last Tuesday in Oklahoma City, where Kerr was calling the Thunder-Clippers game. Myers and Lacob said the teams biggest questioons were about Kerrs lack of coaching experience, which he outlined during a PowerPoint presentation.dddddddddddd "He blew our socks off," Lacob said. "Steve Kerr and Bob Myers together is my dream team. That is a dream team." Kerr still had questions about why Jackson was fired after improving in each of his three seasons. He said it was refreshing to hear Lacob and Myers both admit mistakes, which he could relate to from his time as general manager of the Phoenix Suns from 2007-10. "I felt like I got a lot of clarity on the circumstances on the situation," Kerr said, declining to elaborate. Kerr, 48, helped Arizona to its first Final Four appearance in 1988. He won three titles for Phil Jackson in Chicago and another two under Gregg Popovich in San Antonio during his 15-year NBA playing career. Kerrs former coach at Arizona, Lute Olson, sat in the front row at his news conference. Lacob and Warriors co-owner Peter Guber also sat in the front row alongside Kerrs wife, Margot, and two of their three children, Nick and Madeline, who plays volleyball nearby at the University of California, Berkeley. The Warriors had a video display of "Kerrs Legendary Coaches," showing pictures of Jackson, Popovich, Olson, Lenny Wilkens and Cotton Fitzsimmons. Kerr said he will take the knowledge and experience from them — and other coaches he met with before games as a TNT broadcaster — and employ them with the Warriors. Kerr said his system will have principles of the Triangle Offense that won Jackson an NBA-record 11 titles as coach of the Bulls and Lakers but "will not be the Bulls of the 1990s." He said it will be more tailored to suit star Stephen Currys pick-and-roll abilities while adding some of the off-the-ball movement the Spurs do so well. Kerr has yet to hire a staff. He said he reached out to every Warriors player — almost all of whom publicly said they wanted Jackson to return — and has spoken with all but two of them so far. He said the feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive. "I think theyre excited to get back to work," Kerr said. "And Im excited to get started."
