Hey all, Just wanted to try out something I had an idea for earlier. I know figuring out the proper timezone for when an event occurs and converting it to your local time can be somewhat of a hassle, especially not using a guide/converter. However, instead of getting a random timezone from a thread for an event which you'll just have to look up the timezone conversion for - what if the thread always clearly displayed the event's time in your local timezone, so you'd never have to do any conversion work? Well with my newest RuneTrack device, I'm hoping to make that a possibility. ![]() ![]() The above picture is for the the September Equinox (the official end of summer), which is at 9:18pm GMT on September 22, as stated by the text in red. However, the text in green *should* display the event in your current local time. The picture works by collecting your IP address and matching it to a geographical location, then deriving the timezone offset from your region/country and its current standard/daylight time settings. So, here's a quick conversion as to how it *should* display the green time in your local timezone: Pacific - 2:18pm Mountain - 3:18pm Central - 4:18pm Eastern - 5:18pm Western Europe - 10:18pm Central Europe - 11:18pm However, as I obviously only see what it looks like in my own timezone, it would be great if I could get some feedback to make sure this is working properly before it goes public. Thanks. ![]() |

Great work Sword! As I said on FFDN36, depending on which you read first, Eastern Europe is an hour later and there's Central Europe between ![]() Now we need to get it to say end of Winter if you're in the southern hemisphere ![]() |
