Interesting - thanks for spotting that Laur.

- Along with the release of the new website, we will be making hi-scores a members-only feature.
This is for a number of reasons, but the main one is to keep them fresh. We want the hiscores to feature players who will compete with each other, tooth and nail, for hiscore glory. There are many dormant accounts within the hiscores that have not played for a very long time, and this will give new arrivals in Gielinor a shot at hiscore fame alongside the grizzled veterans on equal terms for all.
We want the hiscores to reflect the full range of content that RuneScape has to offer, and hope that they will be a big draw to the full, members’ game for those interested in high-level RuneScape competition on a level playing field.
Well that's unfortunate. I'm not really even sure if what they're saying makes sense - just because someone took the time and dedication to work their account up through the ranks earlier on in the game's history and have since moved on to other things, they are less entitled to their spot on the highscores than a newer player?

I understand that Jagex wants to make more room on the highscores for newer players - and I agree that it's becoming too difficult to be ranked on the highscores for many skills. However, the way to solve that is to simply increase the capacity of the highscores by another million or two (the highscores have been doubled twice in the past few years already so it's been done before), not by removing existing highscores.
I guess all we can hope for is that the lite feed still displays F2P highscores. If not, it looks like RuneTrack will be Members only.
